Anniversary of the death of St Stanislaus

Today we commemorate St Stanislaus

Bishop Stanislaus was executed by the Polish King Boleslaw II on 11 April 1079. The story goes that the slaughtered bishop collected his body parts and carried them to the city gates of Krakow before he died.
Today St Stanislaus is the patron saint of Poland.

Today we commemorate St Stanislaus in Ossiach Abbey, where his murderer, King Boleslaw II, is buried.
